Drawing with Light

Hi! My name is Mano and I am an amateur photographer. Besides the many other things in life that occupies my time, these last two years I have been drawn towards drawing, that is with light. I love taking pictures as it freezes a moment in the space time continuum. It is subjective, open to interpretation, it captures the very essence of life, the unspoken words.

I’ve never been to a photography class; books, websites and chris orwig have been my mentors. I don’t have a degree in art, in fact I failed many of them during my school days. But I believe there’s a little bit of art in all of us. Enjoy the pictures that are included in this site as I undertake the journey of growth and fascination; in drawing with light.

Recently I started to digitize all my old photos. Realized that I had very few precious ones and the qualities were not that great as well. All the more, I felt the need to digitize them in remembrance of my own story and journey through life. Timely, Facebook also started their Timeline giving me a perfect opportunity to create my story. As I started to document my life, I also begin to appreciate the little things in life. Here is the image when I went to Grade 1 in 1977. Looking at all the faces, I clearly could remember the interactions even their voices. The jokes we shared, the food we ate at the canteen. Amazing! I am still in touch with one person from this photo. Truly grateful for the life that I have experienced thus far. The journey continues…
