Drawing with Light

Hi! My name is Mano and I am an amateur photographer. Besides the many other things in life that occupies my time, these last two years I have been drawn towards drawing, that is with light. I love taking pictures as it freezes a moment in the space time continuum. It is subjective, open to interpretation, it captures the very essence of life, the unspoken words.

I’ve never been to a photography class; books, websites and chris orwig have been my mentors. I don’t have a degree in art, in fact I failed many of them during my school days. But I believe there’s a little bit of art in all of us. Enjoy the pictures that are included in this site as I undertake the journey of growth and fascination; in drawing with light.

Most of us are afraid of something. Some may fear a worm, and you may think it’s plain silly. But fear is real. In fact most of us probably got threatened by our parents when we were young; eat your food or the police may catch you, got to bed early or a ghost may take you away; you get the drift. Well, till today I still have some fears, taking those nasty rides is one of them, like the one pictured here. Why would someone pay to get scared to death is beyond me. Doesn’t mean I don’t take rides at all, just that it would take great courage for me to attempt one. This one, no way, too scary. My own kids get scared of certain things at times, instead of getting upset, sometimes I tell them I understand, daddy is also afraid of certain things. If they try and overcome, l celebrate and encourage them. The message is simple: understand that people do have fears and don’t look down on them, help them overcome. I wish more people could have done that to me growing up. I know I don’t have to bungie jump to be a real man…There are many other things that makes you a REAL man or woman!
