Drawing with Light

Hi! My name is Mano and I am an amateur photographer. Besides the many other things in life that occupies my time, these last two years I have been drawn towards drawing, that is with light. I love taking pictures as it freezes a moment in the space time continuum. It is subjective, open to interpretation, it captures the very essence of life, the unspoken words.

I’ve never been to a photography class; books, websites and chris orwig have been my mentors. I don’t have a degree in art, in fact I failed many of them during my school days. But I believe there’s a little bit of art in all of us. Enjoy the pictures that are included in this site as I undertake the journey of growth and fascination; in drawing with light.

Yes, it’s a Piranha, the meat eating fish. I’m sure we’ve heard all the stories, how deadly and how much they adore human meat. I’m sure some of us have also seen movies about them, attacking and chewing humans at every opportunity. Well, by now we all should know that the truth sometimes gets stretched a lot. And I mean a lot. That brings to what I want to discuss briefly here. What is the truth? Is it something we truly value? As it is is we are already deceiving ourselves that the world is going to be fine tomorrow. That means there’s a lot us in the business of deceiving and being deceived. I was watching CNN tonight and they were discussing about modren day slavery. Apparently they cost about US90 each. And about 55% of them are right here in my neighborhood, the Asia Pacific region. It is estimated there are about 10 - 30 million slaves worldwide, mostly children. Seriously in the 21st century… And don’t forget about the 900 million to a billion people worldwide that have no access to daily food and mostly in this region as well. Nice picture, I need to do something…more!
