Drawing with Light

Hi! My name is Mano and I am an amateur photographer. Besides the many other things in life that occupies my time, these last two years I have been drawn towards drawing, that is with light. I love taking pictures as it freezes a moment in the space time continuum. It is subjective, open to interpretation, it captures the very essence of life, the unspoken words.

I’ve never been to a photography class; books, websites and chris orwig have been my mentors. I don’t have a degree in art, in fact I failed many of them during my school days. But I believe there’s a little bit of art in all of us. Enjoy the pictures that are included in this site as I undertake the journey of growth and fascination; in drawing with light.

This a picture I took in Saigon, one of the many painted along the walls all across the city. I also managed to buy replicas of propaganda posters made during the Vietnam War. I have a deep fascination and appreciation of posters. The interplay of colours, typography, images and and the geometric arrangements to convey a message is truly a work of art. I’ve always wanted to learn to make digital posters using Adobe InDesign but never got around doing it.  Well, I am going to do it. My first poster would be about the Astronomy Club that I plan to start in my school.  Hope it will be the first of many…
